{FECA Vision Choir} Report 4

The local p'str joined us at our hotel to guide our bus driver to his church, New Life Fellowship (NLF), Yelahanka Branch, so we arrived before 7 and had a chance to warm up and practice a bit before the meeting started at 7:30. This branch church was started only 15 months ago and has a Sunday attendance of 50-60 in a rented hall on the third floor of a busy section of town. Tonight, there were about 30 members present. Joanne and Jason shared their testimonies tonight while Tim gave the message after Vision sang our usual program. After the message, the local p'str asked those present to come forward for pr'yr. Like last night, almost everyone came forward, and we too were blessed when some of their members pr'yd for us. We were served pizza (PTL, it was not spicy) and coke for dinner and returned home by 10:30 so we could get to bed a little earlier.

Saturday, 7/1

PTL, Lam. 3:22-23! Each day brings renewed energy and joy. Health-wise, thanks to your covering, we are doing okay. Two or three of us had stomach issues but they only lasted a day or two, and was mostly caused by not remembering to wash our hands before eating something. Kayla was bitten by something and her ankle was red and swollen last night during the meeting but several of us prayed for her and after a decent night sleep, it seems to be better.

A word about where we are staying: SAIACS (South Asia Institute of Advanced Christian Studies) CEO (stands for Continuing Education Opportunity, not the business term you might think of) Centre is a small part of a much larger, beautifully appointed Bible college campus funded by some organization from New Zealand. The Centre is the for-profit arm of the campus, hosting guests and many events (including weddings). The hotel is staffed by the college students, working as part of their scholarship requirements and we noticed how pleasant everyone we have met is. We do feel peace and rest while staying here, unlike the hotels we stayed in last year.

We left after breakfast for our last VBS at New Home. On the way, we stopped for a few minutes to pray over a place called Peace Garden, spread over three acres with several completed buildings (a chapel and one used for Peace Hospital) but in particular a 16,000 sq. ft. three story building which could be used to house children and provide classrooms. Is this the answer to our many months of pr'yer for a permanent location for the SFI orphanage? Please join us to seek His guidance as several obstacle still need to be hurdled.

There were a few more children at New Home since it is Saturday and the older children do not have school today (although they did not join in the VBS). The energy level seems higher, and we ended the morning giving these children the clothes sewed by Allison and Terry's mother's sewing ministry group. We ate lunch and said our good-byes. By the way, the children said they usually don't eat meat every meal so they have enjoyed the lunches cooked special these last three days because we were here. We returned home by 3 to prepare our "Missing Piece" skit before leaving for our late afternoon program, a teen rally at NLF
