Saturday, 7/8
We started the day with devos at 7 AM, then breakfast before heading off. Because classes in this State started a few days later, all schools here have Saturday classes to make up the missing days, so we did our VBS just like the previous four days, but we ended at noon so we could do a short program for all the elementary children like we did last year - a mini western music lecture and concert. Many of the children did remembered us.
During our rest time in the afternoon, Tim spent some time with Brendan and pr'yed for his leg, one of which was maybe an inch shorter than the other. B. said he could feel stretching and pulling and his short leg grew to match his other leg's length. He was able to remove the adjustment in his shoe and walk normally! PTL! We met up with all the Madurai Seeds team at our hotel, then stopped at the home of the girls' orphanage (see Vision reports 8&9 from last year) and bless one of the girls who is getting married on Monday, so we arrived at the nursing school late. We found out some school officials had planned a greeting for us but left since we were so late (apparently, we had gotten the start time wrong so we were really late) but this was also in His plans for we had more freedom to minister. Many of the students remembered us from last year and we heard some individuals share how our pr'yers for them last year were answered, some many weeks later. Denissa and Kayla shared before Brendan spoke, but the Lord orchestrated each person's talk to dovetail each other (with the songs and missing piece skit) to address the hurts of many of these students. Ministry time was sweet, and several students were overwhelmed by the H.S. We even saw our bus driver pr'ying for others. He said he saw this venue in his dreams last night. Amazing, one day old and receiving prophetic dreams already! Indeed, as we shared on the bus driving to a late dinner, we experienced what Paul wrote in 1 Chor. 3:5-9, we did some soil tilling, some sowing, and some harvesting, but soli Deo Gloria, He did it all. PTL.
