{FECA Vision Choir} Report 18

Saturday 7/15

After up-chucking a huge amount of spicy curry at 11 PM and again at 2 AM, Marshall feels a lot better. Maybe something dirty or he just can't take the spicy food. But an egg omelet sandwich breakfast stayed down and after devos, we headed off at 9ish IST (Indian Stretchable Time) for a village church about 40 km away. There we met up with 40-50 pastors and leaders in an "abandoned" church building capable of seating 150 or so. About a year and a half ago, the pastor took his congregation to join an American organization which is able to adequately pay him, so MJ took over this place. We sang and Tim talked about Elisha and what made him Elijah's successor, namely his FATS, (Faithfulness, Availability, Teachability, and Spirit-filled). We then pr'yed for these folks, some of whom we met Thirsday. We ate lunch - briyani and they cooked a special curried chicken for us (a real meat treat while the pastors ate dai) with no utensils (just fingers), then we left to return to our hotel and continue our debriefing while Tim stayed longer to minister to these pastors.

Some of the comments from our debrief:
* I saw how powerful God is here in India and I want to bring it back.
* I didn't really know what to expect. He really opened my eyes and provided me a family here. When I go back I want to have less fear in sharing the gospel and serving God. I know that even though I do suffer he will always be with me.
* I was reminded of the urgency of sharing the gospel. I want to remember the PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens) acronym
* Several mentioned their intent to faithful do daily devos when they got back.
Each person has at least two people to hold them accountable to help them keep their resolutions.

Before we dismissed, we blessed our Seeds teammates and they in turn blessed us. Since this is the last time we can do this as we cannot at a public airport, we had a chance to tearfully hug and say our au revoirs, then we went to finish packing for our many flights tomorrow, ate a light dinner at 6 and left at 7 to another house church meeting.
