Re: {FECA Vision Choir} Prayer Update 4

Thank you.  The googlegroups address worked fine.

The morning and afternoon sessions came as regularly scheduled with devotions, videos, music theory, section practices, and full choir singing. The piano accompaniments that Mari Salli recorded for each song have been great and very helpful since we don't have a pianist and when we sing as a full choir all the teachers are busy singing with the students or conducting the song.  We have used the recordings for 3 or 4 songs and we will use them tomorrow (Thursday morning) when we go to the orphanage at Whitefield. Apparently the city is called Whitefield because many years ago a lot of the foreigners (white people) used to live there. Tim has chartered a bus to take all the students and teachers to visit the orphanage that Serving Foundation International supports. It will give everyone a chance to play and bless the children there.

Tim has been a good supporter encouraging the students and also the teachers each day by informing them of the progress we have made, reminding us of the prayer support that we have been receiving back home and also the positive impact and feedback he has received from the students.

The students had a lot of fun playing charades during the team dynamics session. They never played the game before so they were very excited as expected and sometimes rushed through the actions and movements.

The bass group led tonight's sharing session. They did a great job singing 2 Hindi worship songs and one also gave their testimony which was a good story on their journey through life's struggles with family illness, poverty, hope in God and perseverance in getting through it. The students' gifts and talents really shine through at this time. We would never have known or been blessed by their gifts and talents in playing the electric guitar or singing in their native tongue (which they do amazingly well).

Prayer Requests:

  1. Health and energy for the team, in particular for Amy and Eugene, who have been feeling tired due to teaching the songs and singing. Teaching the songs puts more stress on the vocal chords of the teachers. Amy has a mild headache and Eugene still suffers from a scratchy throat in the morning.
  2. A praise report: Lily's voice has held up really well. She was afraid that she would hurt her vocal chords teaching music but her voice has been well. Thanks for your prayers.
  3. Good bonding time with the students. We only have a few days left with the students here since they leave for home Saturday late morning and early afternoon. Pray that we will take more initiative to get to know all the students better. Sometimes it is easy to focus on just a few within our section but then we don't pay attention to those outside our section.
  4. Productive time. We only have Thursday afternoon and Friday morning to learn 2 or 3 more songs. In addition, the students have an exam they need to take on Friday so they will need time to study for it. Saturday is reserved for the graduation ceremony for the kids and will be the last time they will perform together as a group.
