We left at 5 PM to go to New Life Fellowship, HSR Layout, which is located in the heart of the electronics industry in Bangalore. We pr'yed on the bus for about 1/3 of the trip and arrived there at about 6:30 with ample time to warm up. Besides singing eight songs, Eugene shared his testimony and Mari gave a powerful message which really connected with the packed audience of about fifty adults and over a dozen children. The local p'str, George, then asked the congregation to cleared the floor of chairs and asked anyone wanting pr'yer to come to the center of the room. At first, only three or four came forward, but soon we were kept busy pr'ying for about half an hour - for health, jobs, babies for childless couples, relatives, etc. we were amazed at the vulnerability of the congregation, as many of the men (usually the women are more open) came forward to ask for pr'yers. After pr'ying, we stood like a reception line and the congregation filed by to shake our hands and/or give us hugs, and thanked us. They then served us dinner, Marsala chicken, sweet and sour and spicy chicken served over rice plus mango ice cream. We returned to the Centre at about eleven and spent the next hour preparing crafts for tomorrow's VBS, then went to bed, tired but grateful for our long day of ministry.
Friday, 6/30
After breakfast, we returned to New Home where and did day two of VBS. Perhaps we tired the kids yesterday but they seemed more lethargic and restless today. We returned and debriefed and shared what we learned from today's devotion and found out that both Eugene and Mari blessed many last night and some of us were also the beneficiaries of the congregation's pr'yers for us while we pr'yed for them, real koinonia in action! We then rested before leaving for our evening meeting at six PM.

{FECA Vision Choir} Report 2
Report 2
When we landed early this morning at Bangalore airport, the pilot reported the temperature to be 21 Celsius or 70 degrees Fahrenheit. What wonderful weather we were blessed with. Even at noon, it was pleasant with temperature in the mid seventies. We ate lunch at the hotel restaurant and met Moshi (Moses), who Tim had hired as his business administrator in India, a recent college graduate (but a non-singer) with a business degree. We spent the afternoon doing our devotions, going over the plans for this week, reading and signing our giving up our rights during the mission trip, and doing some rehearsal with Joanne and Nancy, who joined us about four PM when she got out of school. Kloe passed out our Vision T-shirts, designed by Natalie Harmon, and worked on the crafts for VBS which will start tomorrow for three days.
We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and went to bed early.
Thursday, 6/29
PTL, many of us slept well last night as we begin our first day of ministry here after recovering from the long flight and 12-1/2 hour change in time. We left our hotel at 8:10 and arrived at New Home, an orphanage run by Reaching Hand, the social outreach ministry of New Life Fellowship. This is a new facility partially completed a few months ago with 49 children living here. The older 30 are attending two schools and we taught VBS to the 19 younger children. The plan when completed is to have two buildings, each five stories high able to house 500 children here, and a kitchen and a large dining room. We met Pastor Samuel here, whose shared that his first priority is preaching and church planting, the second is children's ministry. The third is social concern. The lowest priority is business and only because its profits can support his ministries. Since Indian law prohibits preaching the Gospel directly, he preaches by his life and loving the children. Pastor Samuel comes from a nominal Christian family, but became a believer in 1973, and went to Bible school. After some struggle with his faith, he met a man with Operation Mobilization which deepened his faith. After getting married, he felt the call to church plant and left OM and joined New Life (started on Mumbai). In 1982, he started New Life in Bangalore, with some miraculous converts (like a gangster). He started a business on the side to support himself. Today, there are 135 churches in Karnataka Province so the Lord has provided. God also gave him a heart for orphans. Today, Pastor Samuel is no longer pastoring any church, having passed on the ministry to other pastors. Mrs. Samuel also shared her testimony, how at the age of 12, desperate to find meaning in her life with her mother on the verge of death, God called her in the night much like Samuel in the Old Testament. She felt the Lord told her to go to pray for her dying mother. She had been bed-ridden, drinking only a sip of water everyday, and after prayer, her mother sat up for the first time in 45 days. The next morning happened to be Sunday, and the whole family was able to walk several kilometers to Sunday service, astounding their neighbors and church members. Since that day she has committed to serving the Lord.
We ate lunch with the children at the orphanage, cooked by Mrs. Samuel, who came today just to meet our team and cook for us, rice and curry chicken. But before lunch, we sang "The Lord Bless You and Keep You" to the staff and children. We then spent the last few minutes singing VBS songs the kids and got back on the bus to return to the CEO Centre, where we did our daily devotions and debrief what we saw at the orphanage this morning,

{FECA Vision Choir} Report 1
Wednesday, 6/28
Praise the Lord, we all made it to Bangalore even though our plane was delayed an hour and a half in Hong Kong. We arrived in Bangalore about 1:30 AM, and by the time we cleared immigration, it was about 3:30. The immigration officials gave some of us a hard time but we all got our e-visas stamped and as soon as we stepped out of customs, we were met by Tim and Kloe. Also with them was Joanne, one of the Vision Seeds singer, it turns out the only one who will be with us the whole time we are in India. We thought there would be a couple more, but due to school or work, only Joanne will be with us although many more will join us in the evening. Joanne comes from Mysore and is the daughter of a pastor. She has a Master's degree in nutrition, so she will keep us eating healthily!
We checked in to the CEO conference hotel where we will stay in Bangalore at about 4:30 and by the time we showered and settled in, it was close to six AM and the sun was starting to rise. We slept in until noon, although some of us were up by 9 AM. There is internet only in the lobby, so these reports will be sent whenever possible.

Re: {FECA Vision Choir} Arrived Hong Kong
Our flight to Bangalore is delayed at least an hour and a half. Pray it does not delay more.

{FECA Vision Choir} Vision leaving Monday, June 26
Thank you all for supporting Vision and praying for our trip. We leave just before one in the afternoon tomorrow and have all been pre checked-in, thanks to Eugene Cheng's hard work yesterday (seats are assigned only 48 hours prior to departure). Tim and Kloe Kim, having left last week, are already in India waiting to meet us when we arrive just after midnight Tuesday (local time).

{FECA Vision Choir} Music Teaching Wrap-up
The three pictures attached were taken at the students' graduation mini-concert held at Kutumba, the handicapped women's home in Bangalore. The first is the group preparing to sing, the second shows Eugene directing the singing, and the last is the entire team picture with Tim Kim. The official name of the Indian singers is "Vision Seeds", named to remember the vision God has given them to spread the good news (and also to honor Vision who sent the team: and seeds to plant the seeds for future ministry.
The students all enjoyed the teaching. Here are some random comments they wrote on their evaluation:
* "Extremely helpful, very encouraging, knowledgeable and greatest blessing""
* "It is very funny ha ha ha and useful awesome songs."
* "I have come a long distance by myself to learn singing. I'm glad that the teachers didn't show any of the anger [like local teachers]. The teachers were like my parents.... no complaints all were superb, excellent, fantastic."
* "Was one of the best thing ever!... The theory lessons were so freaking good! Like I used to think its a thing I'd never learn but I could learn so much in less than a week... Waiting for the next time!"
* "The theory is very useful. I like the teaching techniques used in the class."
* "I am sad somewhat because we are going back to our homes."
